Meet Ms. Kim Placker
It is a privilege to serve as the Interim Principal of Summitt Elementary School. With more than 30 years of experience in education, I’ve been fortunate to serve in many different roles within Austin ISD—and each one has deepened my love for working with students, staff, and families.
My husband, Steve, and I live in north Austin and are proud parents of two wonderful daughters. As a parent, I understand just how much trust it takes to place your child in someone else’s care each day—and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. I appreciate the opportunity to serve this vibrant school community.
Meet Ms. Lucie Cantrell
Assistant Principal
Mrs. Cantrell will be in her second year here at Summitt. This will be her fifth year as an assistant principal. She lives in Austin with her husband, Caleb (an elementary PE coach!) and their orange cat, Crookshank. She will be supporting grade levels PK, Kinder, 1st and 5th grade this year.
Meet Mr. Matthew Bradley
Assistant Principal
Mr. Bradley is back for his fourth year at Summitt. He is passionate about helping students learn, grow, and reach their full potential. He will be supporting 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade students this year.
